Funeral services for Mary Kroese, 97, of Sanborn were held Monday at the First Reformed Church, Sanborn, with interment in Roseland Cemetery.

She died February 28, 1991, at Prairie View Retirement Home.

Mary Mullenburg was born October 5, 1893, at Hospers. She lived her youth in the Hospers and Sanborn areas and received her education in rural O’Brien County Schools.

On March 18, 1915, she was united in marriage to John Kroese at the home of her parents. Following their marriage they lived on a farm north of Sanborn until moving to town in 1951.Her husband died in January, 1963. Mrs. Kroese entered Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn June 25, 1990.

Survivors include one son; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Evelyn) Morton of Rock Rapids, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, one brother, and three sisters.
