Anna B. Vipond, 85, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Sept. 20,1985, in a hospital in Hawarden. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Hudson Lutheran Church. Rev. Allen Bidne officiated. Burial was in Eden Cemetery. Visitation and prayer service were held at the Porter Funeral Home at Hudson.

Mrs. Vipond, the former Anna Rice, was born Feb. 28, 1900, in Jewell, IA. She attended rural school in Sioux County, IA. She married John R. Vipond Oct. 28, 1921, in Orange City. They farmed near Beresford and Hudson and moved into Hudson in 1938. She worked for many years at the Hudson Public School. He died April 5, 1967. Mrs. Vipond was a member of Hudson Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son, John Jr. of Omaha; four "daughters, Mrs. Howard (Louvina) Bradley of Hollister, CA, Mrs. Orland (Dartene) Steinfadt of Hudson, Mrs. Merlyn (Doris) Winterfeld of Ogden and Mrs. Fred (Alice)Miller of Omaha; one brother, Arthur of Northfield, MN; two sisters, Mrs. Rena Anderberg of Alcester and Mrs. Matilda Peterson of Canton; 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
