Lewis W. Jacobe, 68, of Canton, formerly of Hawarden, died Monday, Sept. 9,1985, in a hospital in Canton after a long illness. Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. Rev. Fredrich Mellberg officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Jacobe was born March 10,1917, in Hawarden. He married Fern Corley March 13,1940, In LeMars. He was a carpenter in the Hawarden area until 1959 when he began employment with Northwestern Bell in Sioux Falls. He retired in Oct. 1967 and moved to Canton in Oct. 1969.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry of Canton, and two sisters, Mrs. Arden (Donna) Penrod of Westland, MI, and Mrs. Louella Pocklington of Alcester. Pallbearers were Melvin Hulleman, William Kennedy, Lester Janssen, William Hartman, Kay Pocklington and Joe Koob.
