Born: March 25, 1880 Chicago, Illinois
Died: October 4, 1966 Orange City, Iowa

Funeral services were held at the Newkirk Reformed Church at 1:30 p.m. Friday for Adrian Huygens, 86, longtime resident of Newkirk community, who passed away October 4 at the Orange City hospital.

Services were conducted by the Rev. John Smith and burial was made in the Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home.

He was born March 25, 1880 at Chicago. On March 7, 1906 he married Ella Oolebekkink at Newkirk. She died August 24, 1921 at Newkirk. He married Ida Grotenhuis at Newkirk December 29, 1927. Mr. Huygens was a farmer in the Newkirk area.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Jim of Portland, Ore., Clarence of Hospers, IA; two daughters, Gertrude of Lincoln, NE., and Mrs. Max Kersbergen of Racine, Wis., a half brother, John Kamstra of Hospers; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
