Death: October 26, 1990Mrs. Ellen Keizer, age 88, of Orange City died Friday, October 26, 1990 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.
Ellen was born September 8,1902 in rural Orange City, near Middleburg, the daughter of Ben E. Van Der Zwaag and Annie Dykstra Van Der Zwaag. She lived in the Middleburg area.
On June 6, 1951 she married Bert Keizer at Orange City. They made their home in Hawarden until 1956 when they retired to Orange City. Mr. Keizer died March 27,1971 at Orange City.
In June of 1989 Mrs. Keizer became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City, and in February of this year she transferred to the Orange City Municipal Nursing Home.
She was a lifetime member of the Free Grace Reformed Church of Middleburg where she had been active for many years.
Survivors include her step-daughter-in-law, Helen Keizer of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; three stepgrandchildren, Annajoyce and Dick Nelson of Seattle, Washington, and their sons, Bradley and Jeremy; John and Delores Keizer of Sussex, New Jersey, and their sons Andy, Robbie and Joel; and Robert and Carol Keizer of Milford, and their daughters Christi, Katie and Kelsey; a sister, Ann Muilenburg of Orange City; two brothers, Jurry and Elmer Vander Zwaag, both of Orange City, and nephews and nieces.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her stepson, Gilbert Keizer; a sister, Susan Vander Zwaag; a brother, Frank VanderZwaag; an infant brother and an infant sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 29 at Free Grace Reformed Church of Middleburg with the Reverend Jeffrey Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Capel Township Cemetery near Middleburg under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
