Died: August 24, 1958 Sioux Center, IowaClara Elisabeth Vermeer was born on October 12, 1894 in the Netherlands to Gertrude (Rickers) and Evert Vermeer. She came to America at the age of 16 years. Later on she married Cornelius G. Hulstein on December 23, 1914. All their married lives they lived in Sioux Center, Iowa except for two years at Hawarden, Iowa.
Clara Hulstein passed away Sunday August 24, 1958 at her home in Sioux Center, Iowa, attending the age of 64 years. Funeral services were held on Thursday August 28, 1958 at 1:30 at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church located in Sioux Center, Iowa. Rev. Wesley Smedes officiated with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Mrs. Hulstein was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband Cornelius G. Hulstein- Sioux Center, Iowa; eight children; Gerrit Hulstein, Sheldon, Iowa; Mrs. Albert (Gertrude) Brunsting, Hawarden, Iowa; Edward Hulstein, Fort Atkinson, Wisc; Raymond Hulstein, Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. John (Cornelia) Wiersma, and Mrs. Henry (Esther) Lems, both of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; Harold Hulstein, Lake Park, Iowa; Mrs. Darrel (Shirley) Hartman; 17 grandchildren, two brothers, Case Vermeer, Rock Valley, Iowa; Henry Vermeer, Sumas, WA; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Brunsting, Hull, Iowa.
