Albert Kempers, 72, of Sioux Center died Monday in the Sioux Center Hospital after a long illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M. Thursday in the First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Dr. Peter Y. De Jong officiated. Burial was in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Mr. Kempers was born July 30, 1912, at Hull. He married Anna Calkhoven October 1, 1936, at Sioux Center. He was in the implement business from 1945-1977 when he retired. He served as an elder and deacon at the First Christian Reformed Church and was active in the Sioux Center Saddle Club.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Alan B., of Sioux Center; two daughters, Lila J. Kempers and Mrs. Marvin (Delaine) Mulder, both of Sioux Center; four sisters, Mrs. Bert (Dena) Broek and Mrs. Nick (Minnie) Buyert, both of Sioux Center, Mrs. Harm (Allie) Holleman of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Mrs. John (Betty) Geels of Pella; one brother, Dr. Garret B. of Sarasota, Florida, and three grandchildren.
