Elizabeth "Boots" Haddican, 47, of Hawarden, died suddenly Sunday, May 19,1985, near Salix. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden. Rev. Dwight Rengstorf will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. Pallbearers were Mark Witt, Randy Witt, Jason Witt, Michael Newman, Robert C. Bean, Lanny Pick and Thomas Bean.

Mrs. Haddican, the former Elizabeth Newman, was born Nov. 19, 1937, in Hawarden. She graduated from Hawarden High School and worked as a waitress in Sioux City and also at Otis Coilcraft at Hawarden. She married Myron Haddican July 8, 1966, in Elk Point, SD. He died April 23, 1981. She was currently working at the Hawarden Hospital.

Survivors include her mother, Hazel Newman of Hawarden; one brother, Keith of Sioux City and one sister, Mrs. Robert (Neva) Bean of Salix.
