Mr. David Lee Toering, age 62, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 10, 2007. David was born to Mince and Nellie Toering (deceased) in Hospers, Iowa in 1944.

He is also preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Arlo and Elsie Tate; brothers-in-law, John Smits, and Harold Van Ravenswaay. David will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Nancy, of 41 years; children, Heidi and Jeffrey Bokma (Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia), Shane and Shari Toering, Natalie and Mark Christians; grandchildren, Elsie, Jeremy, and Joshua Bokma, Justine, Cole, and Shaina Toering, Tate, Sage, and Ava Christians; siblings, Henry and Joyce Toering, Arnold and Doris Toering, Karleen Smits, Rodney and Wilma Toering, Alma and Charles Warren, Norma and John Van Wyk, Marilyn and Duane Trumpie, Steven and Corey Toering, Myron and Marla Toering, Sharon Dykhuizen, Marvin and Linda Toering, Craig and Caryn Toering; sister-in-law, Ellen and John Sundblad; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. David loved the Lord, his churches, his wife and children, and his nine special grandchildren. David was known for his generosity and his gift of giving.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the Alger Park CRC with Rev. Ecko DeVries and Rev. Kenneth Van De Griend officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. as well as on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment Blain Cemetery.
