Sioux Center News, April 7, 1949

Cornie Moss, well known Hull trucker was instantly killed Tuesday morning, April 5, when he was pinned between the box and the frame of a loaded dump truck. The tragedy happened on the William Riphagen farm near Hull. The mechanism which lowers the box of the truck had not been working properly and he was trying to locate the trouble when it suddenly released, pinning him beneath it. With him at the time of the accident were his helpers Bernard Scholten and Edward Riepma. Riepma was also injured but not seriously.

Mr. Moss is survived by his wife, the former Bertha De Leeuw and three daughters, Harriet, Alvina and Edna Mae. Also his parents Mr. & Mrs. Ed Moss of Hull, and one brother Bernard Moss, Hull, and two sisters Tracy (Mrs. William Caswell) of Rock Rapids, and Jennie (Mrs. Clarence Vos) of Hull.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, April 8, at one o'clock at the home and at 1:30 o'clock at the First Reformed Church. Rev. Wm. De Jong will officiate at the services and interment will take place at the Hull cemetery.
