Died: May 16, 2005 Hartley, Iowa

Jennie Rosenboom, 91, Hartley, died Monday, May 16, at Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley.

Services were Thursday, May 16, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley, with the Rev. Jeff Filkins officiating. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery, under the direction of Hartley Funeral Home.

Jennie Rosenboom, daughter of Alee and Elizabeth (DeBruyn) Wynia, was born Nov. 4, 1913, in Boyden. She lived her youth in the Sanborn area and received her education at a country school near Sanborn. She married Henry Harm Rosenboom on July 16, 1931 in Sibley. She was a homemaker who also enjoyed farming and gardening. She had worked as a nurses' aide for 15 years at the Sheldon Nursing Home.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Special interests included gardening, crocheting, word search books and playing cards. Family was important to her and she cherished the times she could spend with them.

Survivors include seven children, Darlene Van Es of Alton, Martin and Karen Roosenboom of Hartley, Marion Rosenboom of Spirit Lake, Roger and Nancy Rosenboom of Sheldon, Larry and Vivan Rosenboom of Sheldon, and Ruth and Robert Lowry of Milford; 26 grandchldren, nine great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; and a niece, Lorraine Petersen of Le Mars.

She was preceded by her husband, Henry Harm Rosenboom; a sister, Clara Kniese; and a son-in-law, Frank Van Es.
