MRS. VLOTHO FUNERAL FRIDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. John Vlotho, Jr., 77, of Ireton will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Ireton with Rev. Arthur Anacker officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Vlotho died Tuesday, May 20, in the Hawarden community hospital. The former Hattie Nanninga, she was born March 19, 1892, in Hartsburg, Illinois. She was married July 3, 1913, in Washington township and lived on a farm south of Ireton for many years.

Survivors include the widower; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Struck of Ireton, Mrs. Alvin Horstman of Paullina, and Mrs. Dean Franken of Schaller; five grandchildren; one brother, Warren Nanninga of Sioux City; and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Cornish of Hawarden and Mrs. Ernest Vander Hamm of Sheldon.

Similar obituaries appeared in the Sioux County Capital (May 29) and the Sioux Center News (May 29). The Sioux Center News obit misspells her surname as Vlothe, and gives the forenames of her daughters: Mrs. Walter (Mildred) Struck, Mrs. Alvin (Lorraine) Horstman, and Mrs. Dean (Cleone) Franken.
