Ireton Pioneer Dies Yesterday Funeral Services to Be Held Saturday for Mrs. Herman L. Vander Hamm, Longtime Resident , Mrs. Herman L. Vander Hamm, 84, resident of Ireton 57 years, died at her home early yesterday morning following a long illness. Funeral services will be held from St. John's Lutheran church Saturday afternoon with Rev. C. D. Eifert in charge.

She was born in Germany July 11, 1863, and came to America when a young woman. She married Herman L. Vander Hamm December 17, 1889. They celebrated their golden wedding in 1940.

Survivors are her husband and two sons, Emil Vander Hamm of Sioux City and Fred Vander Hamm of Ireton. Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death.

(According to the 1925 Iowa state census Eliza Vander Hamm was born abt 1864, her was listed as Anna Julfs and her father was Johann C. Toenjes of Bochora Germany.)
