Francis Nelson

Francis Nelson, 72, of Hospers, died March 6 in a Sioux City hospital.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. March 10 in the Hospers Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Robert Offerdahl officiated and burial was in the Hospers Cemetery under direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Nelson was born May 20, 1903, at Lucan, Minn. He married Nellie Jones Aug. 3, 1923, at Redwood Falls, Minn. He had resided in Hospers since 1925.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Marie): Strangeland of Archer; three sons, Don, Veril and Evan, all of Hospers; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Van Meveren and Mrs. Art (Irene) Nybo, both of Tracy, Minn.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Evan (Margaret) Jones of Tekamah, Neb., and Mrs. Jerry (Lula) Gouquie of Ivanhoe, Minn., and his mother, Mrs. Lula Yoder of Tracy.
