Died: October 25, 1951

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for William Sinkey, Sr., 70, who died on Thursday, October 25, 1951. Rev. Ouwinga officiated at the services held in the home and at the Christian Reformed church. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Sinkey was born August 23, 1881, in Zeeland, Netherlands. He was a son of Jacob and Johanna Sinkey. Mr. Sinkey suffered a stroke three months before his death.

He married Nellie Wiersma in 1908. To this union were born seven children.

He was an active member of the Christian Reformed church for 43 years, one of which he was with the Christian Reformed church of Ireton and the others with the same church in Orange City.

He spent his entire married life on a farm near Ireton except the last six years which were in Ireton. He was associated with his son Jake in the business of Sinkey garage.

Survivors include his widow, Nellie, and the following children and in-laws;
Mr. and Mrs. Jake Sinkey,
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sinkey,
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Riepma,
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sinkey,
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Peters,
Mr. and Mrs. William Sinkey, Jr.,
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Eisma.
21 grandchildren
also survived are three sisters,
Mrs. Dena Vander Ploeg of Zeeland, Michigan,
Mrs. Minnie Verbrugge of Armstrong,
and Mrs. Mary Sinkey of Ireton.
His parents, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
