Frederick Oosterhuis died at his home on the Jim Allen place two and a half miles southwest of Hospers Tuesday at the age of about seventy. He had been troubled with heart failure for some time. Deceased came from Holland about two years ago and for a time was janitor of the Dutch Reformed church. He leaves a wife and two sons and a daughter. One son, Ralph, is at home and the other is Martin residing northeast of town five miles. The daughter is Mrs. Bansema residing seven miles northeast of town. The funeral was held Wednesday from the Reformed church.

He was the son of Freerk Alberts Oosterhuis and Martje Claasen Teisman. He married Treintje Leutscher on 23 Apr 1866 at Hoogkerk, Groningen, Netherlands. There were more children in the family than the ones mentioned in this article.)
