Peter John Gulker, 80, Sioux Center, died Tuesday, January 14, at Sioux Center Community Hospital.

Services were Friday, January 17, at Lebanon Christian Reformed Church, with the Revs. Charles Louvau and Stephen Rhoda officiating. Burial were at Lebanon Cemetery, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

Peter Gulker, son of George and Sebia (Kooiman) Gulker, was born April 2, 1923, in Loeta, Minnesota. He married Nellie Vastenhout on January 19, 1942, in Loeta. They farmed near Chandler, Minnesota. They moved to Lebanon in 1956. He owned and operated the Lebanon Store, a grocery. He later operated Gulker’s Feed and Grain in Lebanon and Hudson, South Dakota. They moved to Sioux Center following his retirement.

He was a member of Lebanon Christian Reformed Church and in 2000 transferred his membership to Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Gulker of Sioux Center; five children, Duane and Marvene Gulker of Salina, Kansas, Diane and Harlan Kleinhesselink of Alton, Orlan and Evie Gulker of Lebanon, Brenda and Jim Miles of Kansas City, Missouri, and Beva and Greg Van Zanten of Colton, South Dakota; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Fred Tubergen of Hudsonville, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Carol Gulker; an infant brother, Peter Gulker; two brothers and their wives, Johann and Nellie Gulker and Frederick and Liefina Gulker; a sister, Cornelia Tubergen; and a sister and her husband Catherine and Peter Anker.
