Newkirk Merchant Dies Tuesday
After an illness of eight weeks William W. Bomgaars died at Grossmann hospital at 1:55 a. m. November 7. Death was due to cancer. Mr. Bomgaars had spent about three weeks in Lutheran hospital, Sioux City, when he first became ill and later was moved closer home.

Funeral services will be in the Newkirk church Friday, November 10, at 1:30 preceded by services in the home at 1:13. Burial will be in the Newkirk cemetery with A. D. Van Etten in charge of arrangements. Officiating at the services will be Revs. Greving and Roetman.

William W. Bomgaars, sr. was born at Pella on November 9, 1874. He was married to Jennie Vander Wilt January 21, 1897. They enjoyed 55 years of married life. For many years Mr. Bomgaars operated the village store at Newkirk.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Wm. W. of Maurice, Anthony W. and Arie W. of Newkirk, and three daughters, Mrs. Catherine Vande Hoef and Mrs Sophie Slothouber of Boyden and Mrs. Ada De Koster of Orange City. There are also two sisters. Mrs. S. P. De Jong of Worthington, Minn. and Mrs. Nellie Ellerbroek of Holland, Mich. and 16 grandchildren.
