Ronald F. Heuer, 72, of Ireton, died Sunday, July 03, 2005 at the Hawarden Community hospital from a short illness of cancer. Funeral Service was July 6 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton with the Rev. Marcel Kohlmeyer officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton, with Military Rites by the American Legion Bertram Post #276. Porter Funeral Home in Ireton was in charge of arrangements.

Ronald F. Heuer was born July 29, 1932 in Hawarden, the son of Theodore and Clara (Busch) Heuer. He was baptized on September 18,1932 and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church on June 15,1947. Ron married Eloise Berg Dec. 2, 1953 in Luverne, Minn. He served with the US Army from July 15,1953 to June 1,1955 of that time in Korea. Following his discharge they farmed northeast of Hawarden for nine years on the John Heuer farm. He was later employed by the Hawarden Ready Mix, Harkness Sand and Gravel, Kaskie Brothers, and Hyman Sand and Gravel at Sioux Center. He retired in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise; sons, Wayne Heuer of Ireton and Reed Heuer of Riverview, Fla.; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and a step-grandson; his sister, LeeAnn Bronkhorst of Hawarden; and several nieces, nephews and their families. Ron was preceded in death by his son, Craig in 1986 in a motorcycle accident; his brother, Wilbur Dean in February 2005; three nephews, Darwin and Glen Heuer and Stuart Berg; and a niece, Kristi Berg.
