Sioux Center News, February 17, 1953

Henry J. Goldbeck, 80, farmer living southwest of Clear Lake, SD, died Friday morning at his home following an illness of seven years. Goldbeck had been a resident of the same farm in Deuel county for the past 58 years.

Funeral services were held Monday in Clear Lake and at Bemis. The Clear Lake services were held at the funeral home and the services at Bemis were held in the Presbyterian church with the Rev. Cornelius Wilkins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The deceased was born April 15, 1873, at Alto, Wis., the son of Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Goldbeck. He married Bertha Topp at Clear Lake in February, 1898, who was formerly of Sioux Center. Survivors include his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Henry Lammers, Bemis; a son, Wyna Goldbeck, Clear Lake; a brother Herman of Woodburn, Ore. a sister, Mrs. Emma Wychoff, Watertown; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Mr. & Mrs. Gerrit Harskamp from Sioux Center attended the funeral services. Mrs. Goldbeck is Mrs. Harskamp's aunt.
