ROZEBOOM, NOTEBOOM

William G. Rozeboom, 98, of Sioux Center died Monday, December 6, at the Rock Rapids Health Centre. Services were at 2 p. m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. John Witvliet officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Rozeboom was born to G. W. and Mary (Noteboom) Rozeboom on February 5, 1901, In Meservey. He graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1917, Calvin College In 1921, University of Michigan in 1937, Augusta College of Rock Island in 1940; did graduate work at the University of South Dakota in 1945; and was a doctoral candidate at the University of Michigan in 1957.

He spent 21 years as a secondary school instructor at Hull Western Christian and East Moline (Illinois) Eastern Christian High. He worked one year as director of religious education in Davenport. He spent 25 years at the University of Dubuque, 10 years as professor of history and music and 15 years as registrar. He worked one year as Intern administrator of Bethany Home in Dubuque. He retired to Sioux Center in 1972.

He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. He was also a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Delta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta.

Survivors include a brother, Ed and Bernice of Sioux center; a sister-in-law, Ann of Rock Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant sister and brothers John and Garrett.
