DROWNED.
While Bathing Frank Kinderlan Meets an Untimely End.

On last Saturday a number of boys were bathing in the cut-off of the Rock river below the bridge, at about 11:30 a.m., and Frank Kinderlan, an orphan boy about 12 years old was drowned.

As Kinderlan could not swim he contented himself for some time by playing in shallow water, but becoming bolder ventured beyond his depth and he sank beneath the water without a cry of alarm. Johnny Murphy rushed to his assistance when he went down the last time but was unable to help the victim of this unfortunate accident. The body was recovered within a short time and was taken to the residence of John Murphy, at whose place he made his home, and his body prepared for burial.

Rev. Father Phelan celebrated mass on Monday morning which was largely attended by the school companions of the deceased and his remains escorted by them to the depot where they were shipped to Mitchell for interment. Mr. and Mrs. John Murphy accompanied the remains.
