Died: November 13, 1993Pete Smith, 85, of Centerville died Saturday, November 13, 1993, at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital.
He was born July 30, 1908, in Sioux Center, the son of Cornealius and Leona (Silvis) Smith.
He married Edna F. Agan November 7, 1937, in Appanoose County. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Kenneth Smith of Ottumwa; a daughter, Freda Downing of Moulton; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Leonard and Ira Smith of Sioux Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was retired from the railroad. He was a member of the Numa Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, November 16, at the Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Burial will be in Numa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 P.M. Monday.
A memorial has been established to the Numa Christian Church and may be left at the funeral home.
