Sioux Center News, November 26, 1959

Funeral services were held at the Van Etten Funeral home at Orange City, Saturday afternoon for Wm. J. Geselscap, 65, former Sioux County pharmacist and brother of Mrs. Ben Kamerman of Sioux Center, who died unexpectedly at Lodi, CA, November 16, of a heart attack.

Military rites were conducted by members of the American Legion. The Rev. Norwood Reck officiated. Burial was made in the Orange City cemetery.

Mr. Geselscap was graduated from Orange City high school in 1915 and from the pharmacy department of State University of Iowa in 1921. He operated drug stores in Marathon, Irwin and Orange City and then worked for approximately 12 years as pharmacist for Pember Drug store in Rock Valley before being admitted to the Veteran's Domiciliary at Clinton, IA, in 1955. He also worked in the Pharmacy Department there.

Mr. Geselscap was visiting at the home of friends in Lodi, where he had been about a week, when the heart attack occurred. He had taken a 90 day leave from the Soldiers' home.

Survivors include his widow, one son, Alvin of Palo Alto, CA; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Washam of Eloy, AZ; a brother, Thomas of Orange City; three sisters, Mrs. Otto Mouw of Orange City; Mrs. Ben Kamerman of Sioux Center; and Mrs. Jack Fox of Lopez, WA; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Geselscap was a World War I veteran.
