Rock Valley NewsThe infant Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Westerhuis (Johan VanWesterhuyzen) living near town died Tuesday the sixteenth and the following Thursday the funeral service was conducted at the Reformed church by Rev. John Engelsman and the interment took place in the Rock Valley cemetery south of town.
(From the marriage index found this to be Johan VanWesterhuyzen married to Annie Verdoorn on 26 Feb 1904. This child was Elsie born 27 July 1905- 16 April 1907. Johan was born 1878-1929 and Annie 1884-1968 buried in Rock Valley. Another listing was Jannetje 24 Oct 1839 - 1 Apr 1909, possibly Johan's mother.)
