Mrs. Fritz (Esther) Leafstedt, 94, died Saturday, July 26 at the Morningside Manor rest home in Alcester, SD; Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Big Springs Baptist Church, rural Alcester, with the Rev. Ken Lewis officiating. Burial was in the Big Springs Cemetery with the Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden in charge.

Esther Peterson was born on July 9,1886, in Union County, SD. She was married on Jan. 29,1919, at Sioux City. Her husband died on May 5, 1937. She lived in Hawarden for the past 60 years, and entered the rest home on May 7, 1976.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.
