Donna Fern, infant daughter of Pvt. and Mrs. Frederick Shriner, passed away shortly after 11 o'clock last Friday morning at the Hawarden hospital. The baby was born on June 12, in Sioux Falls so was not quite four months old at the time of her death. She was cared for in the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Clarence Shriner, since she was three weeks old.

She is survived by her parents, Pvt. Shriner in England at the present time. He was granted a furlough at the time of the child's birth and came to Sioux Falls to spend a few days with his wife and baby.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Ross Funeral Home with Rev. W. V. Bell in charge. Interment was made in Grace Hill Cemetery.
