Born: January 26, 1856 Pella, Iowa
Died: November 27, 1935 Orange City, Iowa

Death came Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1935 to Mrs. John Starkenburg aged Orange City resident after a lingering illness of diabetes and complications.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the First Christian Reformed Church of which Mrs. Starkenburg was a faithful member. Rev. Bronkema was in charge. Interment was in the Orange City Cemetery.

Mrs. Starkenburg was born January 26, 1856 at Pella, Iowa. She was married to John Starkenburg on Feb. 12, 1874 and in 1884 came to live on a farm near Orange City. 25 years ago Mrs. Starkenburg and her husband, who died in April, 1927 retired from farming and made their home in Orange City. A son, Steven, died two years ago.

Surviving are nine sons: Richard, Ed, Wesley, and Jake who had been living with his mother, all f Orange City; Sip, Sibley; Sjoerd, Alton; Martin, Pierre S.D.; and Arthur and John, Volga S.D; and two daughters; Mrs. Minnie Kettle, Bigelow MN; and Mrs. Anna Kampstra, Canby, MN.
