James Strubbe, 32, of rural Rock Valley, Iowa, died Saturday, February 10, 1990 in Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Jan. 20, 1958, in Hawarden, Iowa. He married Melanie Torkelson on Feb. 12, 1977, in Hudson. They lived in rural Rock Valley and he worked for Harvard Industries in Rock Valley in the Kooima Division. He was a member of the Border Bandits Car Club, Black Angus softball team in Canton, Iowa Lamb softball team in Hawarden and the Monday night Walleyball League in Rock Valley. He also was a Hudson Little League coach for six years.

Survivors include his wife; one son and daughter, Ezra and Tara, both at home; his parents: Vincent & Betty Strubbe, Hawarden; one brother, Mark of New Ulm, Germany; and two sisters Mrs. Ray (Billie Jean) Berner of Longmont, Colo.; and Mrs. Harvey (Vicky) Olson, Hawarden.

Services will begin at 11 a.m., today, Wednesday in Hudson Lutheran Church with burial in the Eden Cemetery.

Visitation was held at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with a prayer service held Tuesday night.
