Sioux County Capital, September 16, 1948

Mrs. John Dykstra, nee Heinrietta Wandscheer, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1948, at her home. She attained the age of 65 years, 11 months, 1 day. She was born in Sioux Center on October 6, 1882. In 1905 she was married to John Dykstra and then moved to Springfield, SD. In 1913 they moved to Boyden.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter (Janet) Mrs. Fred Boerhave of Hatfield, Minn., two sons, Daniel of Trosky, Minn., and Hildred of Boyden, also 12 grandchildren; five brothers, Henry, Dan, Gerrit, Ed, Ben Wandscheer of Sioux Center; three sisters, Mrs. D. J. Wesselink of Hull, Mrs. Gerrit Peelen of Sheldon; Mrs. J. Van Wyhe of Lester and a host of friends. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home and from the First Reformed Church of Boyden. Rev. Chester Postma officiated. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased. Interment was made in the Boyden cemetery.
