Funeral services were held at the Pioneer United Methodist Church at Rock Valley at 10:30 a.m., Nov. 20 for Arthur C. Vande Weerd, 67, of Rock Valley, who died November 25 at his home in Rock Valley following a brief illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Wm. Ballard and burial was made in Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley.

Mr. Vande Weerd was born July 14, 1904, at Crookston, Minn. He married Alice Lengkeek of South Sioux City April 20, 1942.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Ronald of Virginia Beach, VA., Alan of State Center, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) Sage; Mrs. Rodney (Bonnie) Kooima, both of Rock Valley; four brothers, Herman of Schaller; John and Bert, both of Rock Valley; Henry of South Sioux City; one sister, Mrs. Marie Bauman of Daytona Beach, Fla; five grandchildren.
