Pauline K. Kooiker, 92, died Thursday, August 12, 1993, in Hopkins Care Center, Hopkins, Minnesota. Pauline Van Driel was born December 25, 1900, at Middleburg, Iowa. She was the daughter of Peter T. and Adrianna (Van Ess) Van DrieL She married Peter Kooiker on April 26, 1934, in Canton, South Dakota.

They lived at Orange City, Iowa, where she owned and operated a restaurant. In 1949 they moved to Hull Iowa, and to Rock Valley, Iowa, in 1952. She was a foster grandparent with Hope Haven's Foster Grandparent program for many years Peter died November 3,1969. She moved to the Minneapolis area in 1986.

Survivors include one son. Jerry, and his wife. Louise of Bloomington, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Audrey) Benuon of Chaska Minn., five grandchildren, Scott Kooiker of Crawfordsville, MN, Ross Kooiker of Eau Claire, Wl, Tina Hueslis of Scottsdate. AZ, Dan Bentson and Julie Bentson of Cbaska, MN.; one brother, Peter H. Van Driel of Rock Valley, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. Elmer (Tracy) Juffer of Sioux Center, Iowa.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley, with Rev. Harlan De Jong officiating. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, one sister, Mrs. Joe (Nellie) Hannelink; and three brothers, Abe, Arie, and Cornie Van Driel. Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley was in charge of arrangements.
