Norene V. Tjeerdsma, 63, of Hull died Thursday, August 14, at Sioux Center Community Hospital and Health Center.

Services were on Saturday at the American Reformed Church in Hull. Burial was at Hope Cemetery, Hull

Mrs. Tjeerdsma was born on November 10, 1933, to Clarence Norman and Norma (Iverson) Larson at Menno, South Dakota. She was graduated from Scotland High School in 1952 and then attended Southern State Teachers College and later taught in rural schools.

She married Franklin Oscar Tjeerdsma on July 14, 1955, at Springfield, South Dakota. They lived in Springfield, Menno, and Canton, South Dakota, and Hull, Iowa. He died April 25, 1995, in Sioux Center.

She was a member of the American Reformed Church and Reformed Church Women's Ministries. She also belonged to Coffee Break Bible Study and was involved in the foster grandparents program at River Valley School in Rock Valley.

Survivors include her five children and their spouses, Dr. Kenneth and Melissa Tjeerdsma of Sioux City, Jan and Eileen Tjeerdsma of Cherokee, Bryant and Tamara Tjeerdsma of Hays, Kansas, Lori and James Fischer of Sheldon, Brent and Denise Tjeerdsma of Rapid City, South Dakota; 11 grandchildren, John, Kenneth Jr., Elizabeth Jane, William James, Katherine, Christa and Bryant Alex Tjeerdsma; Jennifer, Eric and Erica Fischer; and Micah Joel Tjeerdsma; and a sister, June Diede of Utica, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Kevin John.
