Clarence Krantz, 73, of Granville died unexpectedly Sunday in the Primghar hospital. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville. The Rev. Francis Nemmers officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

Mr. Krantz was born June 9,1912 in Granville where he was raised and educated. He farmed near Granville until retiring in 1977. Mr. Krantz was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert (Ida) Brunsman of Alton and Mrs. John (Armella) Stallman of Sheldon and two half sisters, Mrs. Felix (Kathleen) Dreckman and Mrs. Jack (Doralice) Ney, both of Granville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John (Elizabeth Hemmen) Krantz, two brothers, Matt and Elmer, two sisters, Mildred and Rosella and his stepfather, Albert Kuester.
