Sioux County Capital of Feb 18, 1993

Henrietta Faber, 82, of Orange City, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1993 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Memorial services were held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Etten- Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City. Interment was held prior to the services at 10:00 a.m. at West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City.

Henrietta was born March 21,1910 in Orange City, the daughter of Rein and Wilhelmina (Houtsma) Faber. She was raised at Orange City where she became chief operator for the telephone company. In 1942 she left Orange City and was a secretary for the Corps of Engineers in Baltimore, Md. and Los Angeles, Calif. for 30 years. In 1980 she returned to Orange City.

Miss Faber was a member of the American Reformed Church where she belonged to the Esther Circle of Reformed Church Women. She was also a member of the Garden Club of the Orange City Federated Women's Club.

Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Clarence (Florence) Jacobsma of Hospers; a brother, Raymond Faber and his wife Bernice of Orange City; nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jennie Van Gronigen and Nellie Kraai. Memorials are being directed to the Sioux County Cancer Society.
