Nicholas or William? Vander Mey, a resident of Sioux Center for the last year passed away Sat. evening, after many years of gradually failing health. He was 55 years of age. He is survived by Mrs. Vander Mey and two children, Wm. of Maurice, and Marie of Orange City, three sisters, Mrs. J.J. Bomgaars of Sheldon, Mrs. C. Vander Meer of Alton, and Mrs. Jake Vander Meer of Dumont, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at two o'clock Wednesday at the Central Reformed Church.

Mr. Vander Mey was born at Freeport, Ill. As a young man he came to Sioux County and for a time worked at the F. M. Slagte Co. office in Orange City. He was married 31 years ago to Miss Minnie Peters. The family lived on a farm near Sheldon for some years in the hope that ..illegible...life would benefit Mr. Vander Mey's health. They also lived twelve years in Denver to benefit from climate conditions. Mr. and Mrs. Vander Mey returned to Sioux County about a year ago, after a six months stay in California, and bought a home at Sioux Center in order to be near their children and friends. The family has the deepest sympathy of many friends in their afflictions.
