Hawarden, IA 51023Obituary: Hawarden, Iowa- Ricky Lee Davis of Hawarden, passed away peacefully, at the age of 54, surrounded by family on Monday, December 30, 2013 while residing at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with Rev. Carolyn Salberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com.
Ricky Lee Davis was born in Hawarden, Iowa to Cameron and Verlan (Steeneck) Davis on January 30, 1959. He graduated from West Sioux High School in 1977 and actively participated in wrestling during his years there. After graduation, he was employed at Foreman Tire, Keizer Refrigeration, and Boyer Sand and Gravel.Rick married Jane Snoozy in 1989 and made their home on the Davis Family Farm. They welcomed twin girls in August of 1990, and resided there for the next two years. Throughout the years, he enjoyed many activities, such as darts, pool, and golf. Rick also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his lifelong friend, Bob Keizer. In 2010, when he was blessed with his granddaughter, Kinlee, she became the main focus of his spare times.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes his daughters, Sadie Davis and Sophie Davis, granddaughter, Kinlee Jurrens; father, Cameron Davis; brother, Randall (Lori) Davis; and sister, Lori Bockelman all of Hawarden. He is also grieved by various nieces and nephews including Heath Davis, Tiffany (Nick) Butler, Bobbie Sue Davis, Christopher (Emily) Lindgren, and Krystal (Ryan) Emerson; and great nephews, Jayden Emerson, and Tristan and Justin Butler.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Verlan Davis; brother, Doug Davis; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
