Mrs. Edith Watson, age 82, of Alton died Wednesday, December 11, 1991 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Edith was born March 2, 1909 at Lesterville, South Dakota, the daughter of Albert and Pauline (Gimbel) Frank. She was raised in South Dakota.

On June 16, 1926 she married Daniel Watson at Menno, South Dakota. They made their home in northwest Iowa. Since 1942 they have lived at Alton. He died April 5, 1988 at Orange City.

Survivors include her two daughters, Betty and her husband LeRoy Kirscherman of Menno, S.D. and Mary and her husband Donald Minten of Alton; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Victor Frank of North Little Rock, Ark. and Helmuth Frank of Long Beach, Calif.; and two sisters, Olenda Chytka of Okanogan, Washington, and Doris Holbrook of Simi Valley, California.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Velma Mae in 1947; premature son, Willis, and three brothers.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 13, at the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City. Dan Sherick and Dan Henry officiated. Interment followed at Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton, Iowa.
