Mr. Willem Vander Linden, 81, died at his home Friday morning, August 4, following an illness of three months.

Mr. Vander Linden was born in Spijkkenisse, Netherlands, on July 18, 1858.

He was married on Oct. 13, 1882 at Spijkkenisse to Johanna Berkhoudt, nine children were born to them. He and his family came to America some 26 years ago settling on a farm south of Hull, Iowa. The past 16 years he had resided in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Survivors are the widow and children: (Hendrika) Mrs. William Gorzeman of Boyden, Iowa, Jacob of Rock Valley, Ia., (Maartje) Mrs. Peter Van Bodegoom, Simon and Jacobus, all of Spijkkenisse, Netherlands, Lane of Sioux Center, Ia., (Annie) Mrs. John Landegent of Rock Valley, Ia, William of Ireton, Ia., and Dick of Sioux Center. He also leaves 41 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 7, 1939, at 1:30pm from the residence and at 2:00pm from the First Reformed Church. The reverend Mr. L.A. Brunsting officiated. Burial was in the Sioux Center cemetery.

His general health had been good until recently. He was blessed with a rugged constitution.
