Last Friday morning death invaded the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gardiner and carried away their little daughter Helen aged four years. She had been sick for a week with membranous croup. Funeral services held from the house and simple services at the cemetery were conducted by Rev. Riepma Monday. The stricken family have the sympathy of all.

(Found the family in the 1920 census living at Beresford SD. Robert Gardiner born 1816 NY and wife Hattie L. born 1865 Iowa, children Arthur, Frances, May and Dorothy. Helen born 9 March 1901 died 4 Aug 1905 was buried in the Presb. Cem Hospers IA)
