JoAnn F. Fretz, 52, Orange City died Sunday October 27, 1991, of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident near Struble.

Services were held Wednesday, October 30 in the Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City with the Rev. Daumer officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Mrs. Fretz was born February 27, 1939, in Charter Oak, the daughter of William Roy and Florence (Carlson) Jones. As a young child she moved with her family to Ute, where she was raised. She married Floyd L. Fretz August 31, 1957, in Ute.

The couple made their home in Charter Oak until 1969, when they moved to Orange City. She was employed at K-Products in Orange City for about 20 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, four daughters, Cynthia JoAnn Helmgartner of Huntington Beach, California, Julie Ulesch of LeMars, Kristi Fretz of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren; her mother Florence, of Ute, two sisters, Sheryl Peterson of Ute and Janelle Strudt of Olathe, Kansas and a sister-in-law, Edna Jones of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her father; and a half brother, Donald Jones.
