Mr. and Mrs. Dwane Buttenob, Mr. and Mrs. Den Hartog and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Van Rooyen attended the funeral Wednesday afternoon of John Zorgdrager, 76, at Sheldon, grandfather to Buttenob and uncle to the latter Mr. Zorgdrager, passed away on Sunday, July 29. He was formerly of Newkirk where the family lived for many years. They moved to Melvin and from there to Sheldon 16 years ago. He leaves his widow and nine children; Tena, Mrs. Leonard Schoken of George, Iowa; Abram of Sheldon; Henrietta, Mrs. Herman Venekamp of Ruthion, Minnesota; Dena, Mrs. Fred Korthals of Minnesota; Christine, Mrs. Jas Buckman of Lake Park, Iowa; John of St. Paul, Minnesota; Clarence of Harris, Iowa; Lawrence of Lake Park; and Elmer of Lake Heron, Minnesota. There are 38 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also attending the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. W. P. De Jong, Rev. Harmelink, former pastor of the departed at Melvin participated in the funeral services which were held at the First Reformed Church of Sheldon with Rev. Newhouse in charge. Interment was made at Sheldon.
