Rienk Ytsma, 93, of Rock Valley, died Saturday in the Valley Manor Nursing Home, Rock Valley.

Mr. Ytsma was born January 22, 1891 in Drachten, Friesland, Netherlands. He married Tjike Heddema April 23, 1923 in the Netherlands. He came to the United States in 1909. He worked as a farm laborer in the Inwood, Iowa area until he returned to the Netherlands to get married. He and his wife came back to the United States after marriage. She passed away in March, 1929.

Mr. Ytsma farmed in the Lester, Iowa area and Valley Springs until retiring in 1961. He moved back to the Lester area after his retirement in 1969, when he moved to the Valley Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Tillie) Nyhuis, rural Rock Rapids, Iowa, and three grandsons.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday in the Christian Reformed Church, Rock Rapids, with burial in the Richland Cemetery, Inwood.
