Edna Ethel Williams, 81, died Saturday, February 9, 2002, at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 14 at 1:30 P.M. at the United Methodist Church at Archer. Rev. David Finely will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Primghar, under the direction of the Sanborn Funeral Home.
Edna Ethel was born on August 21, 1920, at Primghar, the daughter of Fred and Lulu (Wetzel) Dewey. She lived her youth and received her education at Primghar, graduating from Primghar High School. She married Leland F. Williams on August 8, 1937, at Worthington, Minnesota. With the exception of living in Kansas from 1943-1944, the couple resided at Archer. She had been employed at the Archer Consolidated School, J.C. Penney at Sheldon and had worked for 22 years at Wolf’s Department Store in Sheldon. Mr. Williams died in May, 2001. Edna had resided at Landsmeer in Orange City and later at the Heritage House Nursing Home.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the Archer United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and was a past president of the PTA. She enjoyed antiques, sewing, reading and crafts.

Thomas and Marian Williams of Placentia, California, Dr. James K. and Kathy Williams of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Bonnie and Rodney Brink of Marion, Sharol and Nelvin Miedema of Hospers, Betty and Rodney Van Meeteren of Sheldon and Bill and Melissa Williams of Laguna Niguel, California; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Nell Wills of Augusta, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and two brothers.
