Died: 1-13-1993

Harold Bouma, age 54, of Orange City, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1993 at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. as a result of injuries received in an explosion at Diamond Vogel Paint Company in Orange City where he was employed.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 16, 1993 at 10:30am at the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Donald De Glopper and the Rev. Harlan De Jong officiated. Interment followed at Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton under direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Harold Lou was born July 5, 1938 at Carnes, the son of Andrew Dick and Artie Henrietta (Vander Wilt) Bouma. He was raised at Alton. On June 24, 1960 he married June Florrie Curry at Nashua. They made their home in Orange City.

In January of 1958, Harold began working at Diamond Vogel Paint Company. He was currently employed as the receiving foreman.

He was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Brian and his wife Shelly of Rock Valley, and Brent and his wife Dorina of Alton; two grandchildren, Andrew John and Jessie Marie; and brother Roy and his wife Geraldine of Boyden.

He was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Barry and Bradley; an infant grandson, Barry Dale; and a sister, Kathryn.
