Roy Henry, born February 18, 1927 and was the son of Andrew Dick and Artie Henrietta (Vander Wilt) Bouma. He was raised on a farm southeast of Carnes.

On March 18, 1949, he married Geraldine Oldenkamp at Worthington, Minnesota. Since 1951, they have made their home in Boyden. Roy was a heavy equipment operator. He was employed by Sioux County for 23 years and by the Northwest Iowa Landfill for 15 years. He retired in 1989.

He was associated with the United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Audrey and David Huisman, of Norfolk, Nebraska; and Mary and Terry Van Surksum of Omaha, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Ann and Jeffrey Huisman, both of Norfolk; Scott Van Surksum, of Omaha; and Jason Van Surksum, of Norfolk; a great-granddaughter, Cara Huisman; a sister-in-law, June Bouma, of Orange City; and two nephews, Brian and Brent Bouma.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Ray Huisman; a brother, Harold, and a sister, Kathryn.
