Rev. John Bovenkerk, pastor of the American Reformed church of Hull for the past six years, died of a heart ailment Saturday at the Sheldon Hospital. Born in the Netherlands 70 years ago, he came to the United States at the age of 13.

He moved from Muskegon, Mich, to Hull where he preached until his death. Funeral services were held Monday at the First Reformed Church. His body was sent to Muskegon for burial. Survivors are his wife, five sons and two daughters.
