From the Thursday, December 19, 1985 Hawarden Independent:

Frank Comstock, 51, of Scotland, SD, died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1985, in a hospital in Scotland. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, in Zion Lutheran Church in Scotland. Rev. Don Peterson officiated. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery, rural Scotland, under direction of Petrik-Kelley Funeral Home of Scotland.

Mr. Comstock was born March 8, 1934, in Hawarden. He married Donna McWilliams March 4, 1957, in Sioux City. He served in U.S. Navy Air Force for 21 years, retired in 1973 and moved to Scotland in 1977. He was employed with Cargill Co. in Scotland.

Mr. Comstock was a member of the VFW and Moose Lodge of Comstock (sic) and Masonic Lodge of Keystone.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeff of Scotland; four daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Janet) Johnson of Rapid City, Mrs. Nancy Bertrand of Kaylor, Becki and Amie, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Mary Comstock of Sioux City; one brother, Max of Salem, WI; seven sisters, Mrs. Kharen Verzani and Mrs. Sharon Larson, both of Sioux City, Mrs. Blanche Johnston of Alaska, Kathryn Duin of Omaha, Grace Christiansen of Irene, JoAnn Stahlman of Des Moines, and Susan Koppes of Dubuque, and eight grandchildren.
