Jessie Meedema, 90, of Hospers, died Saturday, July 27, at oak Park Care Center in Sheldon A memorial services was at 2:p.m. Tuesday July 30, at the Christian Reformed Church in Hospers with the Rev. Mike McDonald Officiating, Burial was at the Hospers Cemetery.
Mrs. Miedema was born October 26 1905, in Winerweer, The Netherlands, the daughter of Eppe and Ettje(Vander Veen) Wieringa. She grew up in the Netherlands and came to the United State with her family in August 1921 and settled on a farm west of Hospers. She married Bert Miedema November 4, 1926, the family farm and spent the next 50 years there they retired and moved into Hospers in 1976. She had been a resident at the care center the last nine years; she was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Hospers and was an active member of Priscilla Society.

Survivors include her children, Berdena and her husband Kenneth Roos of Sheldon, a daughter in law, Mary Miedema of Sheldon, Edward and his wife Lucille of Hospers , Andy and his wife Joan of Alton, Melvin and his wife Sharol of Hospers and Robert and his wife Sharlene of Edgerton, Minnesota; a brother, Henry Wieringa of Sheldon; a sister Nellie Stuit of Hettinger, North Dakota; 26 grandchildren and 39 Great grandchildren
