Katharina Margaretha Tiedemann, 87, of Hull died Friday, August 20, at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon.

Services were at 11 A. M. Monday, August 23, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Hull, with the Rev. A. “Pete” Peterson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The former Katharina Breuer was born January 21, 1906, at Sheridan Township, Sioux County, daughter of J. Henry and Magdalena (Beckman)Breuer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was married there to Alfred Berend Tiedemann on February 20, 1930. They farmed in the Boyden/Hull area, retiring to Hull in February 1966. He died January 3, 1984, at Sheldon.

She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, active in the church’s women’s organizations such as the Ladies’ Aid and taught Bible school. She was a member of the Hull Federated Women’s Club and took part in neighborhood Bible studies.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Norman and Betty, Arnold and Gayla, all of Hull, and Wilmer and Donna of Hartley; a daughter and her husband, Luella and Dennis Heilman of Melvin; a former daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Reyelts of Hull; two sisters, Martha Hansmann of Boyden and Erma Fick of Hull; 16 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
